Adapted from Rachel Reid's wildly popular novel, Heated Rivalry follows Canadian golden boy Shane Hollander and Russian powerhouse Ilya Rozanov — fierce competitors on the ice, something very different off it. Their secret relationship spans eight years, multiple countries, and an insane amount of emotional denial.
This isn't just a romance — it's a full-on sports drama with legitimate hockey sequences, locker room politics, and the constant pressure of being closeted in professional sports. The chemistry between Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie is electric. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 96%, and honestly? That feels low.
If you liked Slap Shot for the hockey and wished it had more heart, this is your show. If you couldn't care less about hockey, the romance alone will carry you through.
Binge-worthiness: 10/10 — I started this at 9 PM and was emotionally destroyed by 2 AM. Worth it.
3. Agatha Christie's Seven Dials (Netflix, 3 episodes)

Mia McKenna-Bruce plays Lady Eileen "Bundle" Brent, a 1920s socialite who stumbles into a murder mystery after a practical joke at a country estate goes fatally wrong. What starts as a lighthearted romp through the English countryside quickly spirals into espionage, secret organizations, and the kind of plot twists Christie was famous for.
Agatha Christie's Seven Dials is only three episodes, which means zero filler. Chris Chibnall's adaptation keeps the wit and charm of the 1929 source material while adding some modern energy. Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman show up in supporting roles and clearly had a blast filming this. The production design is gorgeous — think Knives Out meets Downton Abbey.
Is it the greatest Christie adaptation ever made? No. But it's the most fun one I've watched in years, and at three episodes, the commitment level is basically zero.
