Star Wars: Zero Company Brings the Clone Wars to Strategy Gaming in 2026
Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment are finally bringing us back to the final days of the Clone Wars with Zero Company, a highly anticipated strategy game dropping in 2026.
May the Force be with us. If you've been waiting for a true tactical experience set in a galaxy far, far away, our patience is finally paying off. Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment have announced Star Wars: Zero Company, an upcoming strategy game releasing in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Set during the final, chaotic phase of the Clone Wars, Zero Company promises to explore one of the most beloved and tragic eras in Star Wars history. As someone who still watches the Siege of Mandalore arc from The Clone Wars season 7 on repeat, knowing we are getting a dedicated tactical game in this timeframe is an absolute dream.
For years, the strategy genre in Star Wars has been surprisingly quiet. We all remember the glory days of Empire at War, but Zero Company looks to bring a modern, gritty, and deeply tactical lens to the Republic's desperate struggle against the Separatist Alliance. Bit Reactor—a studio founded by veterans who worked on XCOM and Civilization—is leading the charge. If they can channel the intense, high-stakes decision-making of those games into leading Clone Troopers on the battlefield, we're looking at something special.
Respawn Entertainment is co-producing, which makes perfect sense. Between Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, they've proven they understand how to balance deep lore with satisfying gameplay. Putting them alongside strategy veterans means Zero Company has the pedigree to be one of the best Star Wars games of the decade.
We don't know yet if we'll be commanding well-known legions like the 501st or the 212th, or if we'll be following an entirely new squad navigating the galaxy's darkest hour just before Order 66. Either way, preparing to deploy tactical squads against legions of battle droids sounds like the perfect way to spend 2026.
It's a great time to be a Star Wars fan. From the return of Ahsoka to The Mandalorian and Grogu hitting the big screen, the future is incredibly bright. But for those of us who have always wanted to command the Grand Army of the Republic, Zero Company just became our most anticipated release.
May the Force be with your tactical planning.
