But now, it’s time for console players to step through the event horizon.
Slitherine Games has officially announced that the real-time tactics game is making the jump to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. If you’re a console-bound fan who felt like you were stuck on Destiny without a working ZPM while the PC crowd got to play, your wait is almost over.
For those who haven’t kept up with the franchise’s gaming endeavors (and let’s be honest, our track record with games has been as bumpy as the first tests of the X-302), Timekeepers is a stealth-heavy tactical game set during the aftermath of SG-1's Season 7 finale, "Lost City." You take command of Commander Eva McCain and her team, unraveling a time-loop mystery while dealing with the fallout of the battle of Antarctica and the Goa'uld threat.
It’s a game that genuinely respects the lore. You aren’t just running and gunning; you’re using the specific skills of your team members—much like SG-1, Atlantis's AR-1, or the crew of the Destiny had to do when outgunned by Jaffa, Wraith, or Lucian Alliance patrols. The console port means a whole new audience gets to experience this original story in the Stargate universe.
While we're all still waiting for Amazon MGM’s live-action revival (which Martin Gero recently confirmed is still two years out), Timekeepers is the perfect way to scratch that gate-travel itch right from your couch.
